Paul came to see us as he had chipped, worn and broken teeth which resulted in a collapsed bite and tooth wear throughout the mouth. This was solved by whitening, bonding, rebuilding the back teeth to allow minimal preparation to restore upper arch tooth wear and missing teeth with ceramic onlays, veneers & bridges. So pleased with these results!

The Porcelain Veneers Process

During your initial consultation

During your initial consultation at our practice, you will discuss your aesthetic goals for correcting and improving your smile with one of our qualified cosmetic dentists.

Your dentist will give detailed design specifications regarding shape, colour, and translucency of your new veneers to the lab. The dentist will then arrange your follow-up appointments and tell you what to expect over the next few appointments.

During the second appointment

During the second appointment, the dentist will prepare your teeth for your new porcelain veneers. Doing so requires buffing off about half a millimetre of tooth enamel to adjust for the added thickness of the veneers. This is a painless procedure.

Next, your dentist will take a mould of your mouth to send to the laboratory, where they will craft your porcelain veneers to match your teeth. Making a natural looking porcelain veneer is an art form, that’s why we use only the very best dental labs.

Temporary Veneers

We will provide you with temporary veneers during this stage. This will allow you to get used to the new shape of your teeth while you wait.

Placing Your Porcelain Veneers

After two or three weeks, your porcelain veneers will be ready. On your return to the practice, you will be able to examine the veneers to assess their colour and shape. They will then be permanently attached to your teeth.

After The Procedure

After your porcelain veneers have been fitted, you should care for them just as you would natural teeth. Regular brushing and flossing will maintain them over time. It should take several weeks for you to adjust to the new feel of your teeth, but very soon, they will feel absolutely natural.

This was an emergency appointment as my bridge had come loose. I wasn't able to see my usual dentist but the dentist and nurse who looked after me were super. Removed the old bridge, cleaned it, and refitted it; all painless and really seemed to take a lot of care with the operation. What can I say that hasn’t already been said? DOTC amazing staff whom are very welcoming. Morven McCauley was assigned to me as I had a mixture of dental issues. I had lost all confidence in dentists and had major anxiety. During my initial consultation Morven put me at ease and over the next 4 months, not only had she built up my trust and confidence, she also became a miracle worker and gave me back my smile and self confidence. I was dubious about their promise of pain free dentistry but, I can honestly say that the major dental treatment I had over months of visits, it was completely pain free. Was seen promptly today at Dentistry on the Clyde. The dentist was very polite & listened to everything I had to say. He did his best to fix the problem I have with new dentures. He advised me to only wear when eating, keep them out all other times, as gums are sore, this will give gums time to heal.If still having problems, come back & he would his best to sort them.

My over all experience here was a pleasant one. Andrew the dentist was an absolute diamond. He made me feel at ease and listened to me and what I had been through with previous dentist. He could see i was anxious and shaking with fear. But with a calming manner he made me feel at ease. He explained everything what he was going to do and was honest with me and told me what was wrong with my mouth and how it could be sorted. Donna the dental nurse was also amazing, she very professional and was such a lovely person to talk to. Andrew, went above and behond to try and get me the help I needed as I was needing to see a specific orthodontist surgeon to treat my problem. My appointment for a filling, due to receding gums wasn't due until June. But, the nerve pain I was experiencing was incredible, and I can take alot of pain. This was on a different level. I couldn't eat properly nor brush my teeth without the pain radiating all through my mouth and jaws. However, I phoned on the Friday and got an appointment on the Saturday. Morven and her assistant were fantastic. I got a white filling, filling in an area the receding gum. It was pain-free. Absolutely brilliant. Now I can eat without pain, and most importantly, brush my teeth!

I have to be brutally honest. I have one major regret with Dr Morven McCauley and Dentistry on the Clyde. My regret is that I didn’t I bite the bullet sooner and just go ahead and pay the price and solve my teething problems. Morven’s implants have changed my life.
